7月23日 Big Grave MistakeUntil today I never realized what a great mistake I had made in choosing to go to NJU. But it is a big mistake--now I know. Why? 1. I am in the foreign studies department and my parents the applied language studies department. These two departments, though separated, are in a lot of ways connected together, meaning that I have to behave extremely properly not to shame my parents. That's why I cannot refuse the request to write speeches, submit scripts, attend stupid meetings, and taken on voluntary teaching programs. 2. The school's being located in Nanjing means that even during vacations I am in the clutches of the department. And they know that as well. They are treating my like their servant now--no, slave is a better word, for servants get their payment at least--demanding me to send my painstakingly written speeches to so and so so that they can have an idea how to write their own speeches, forcing me to go to a silly meeting and giving me only 2 days to write a 5-minute opening speech for it, and--most insufferably--calling me to pick up 3 Japanese from the airport in the middle of my vacation. 3. The school--or my department--or both, has utterly no idea how to appreaciate talent. 4. I do not get discounts for taking trains, for I live in right where I study. 5. None of my very very best high school friends study in this university. 6. The school has not got boys that fit my "as...as.." list for me to fall in love with. 7. The school is POOR, meaning that you never get rewarded for your good deeds. 8. The food is awful. 9. .... I have not got the 9th. But I think 8 are enough to show what a big mistake I have made, especially when I had the opportunity to be accepted by Peking University.
But I have got wonderfull classmates, especially those from Class A. That...is a comfort. 7月22日 HP7 I did not plan to have the book the moment it was released. I was not too keen on reading it as a matter of fact. I have stopped being a Harry Potter fan with the release of book 5.
For Rowling seemed to be losing her grips from then on.
But Papa bought it for me, so I read.
Finished it in 7 hours (of course not non-stoppingly, it is not that intriguing any longer I promise. I kept track of time to see my reading speed).
Can only truthfully say,
that I am mighty disappointed.
She really has lost her grips.
Wise of her to have decided to quit. 7月13日 Tar Baby According to my weather definition (if you have read it carefully through), we have been having pretty fowl weather recently.
Consequently, CX is now as brown as a nut. Although I have been trying to persuade myself that it is no serious matter, that foreigners even purposely work for a tan in order to seem healthy, and that my skin color will eventually turn to normal in a year or two, I still feel mortified staring at myself in the mirror nowadays. Oh, yes, I did not use any sun screen. We are given a day off today, and here I am: at home. I have just found out that we do have a bottle of sun block lotion at home. But here is what the direction says, the first line: "For a beautiful bronze suntan..." .................................................... Completely defeats the object. 7月6日 Weather DefinitionCX WEATHER DEFINITION
Adequate from Jul.2nd to Jul.20th
1. Perfect weather: lightening, thunder, storm, gale, pouring rain, flooding city.
2. Lovely weather: the sun must be completely, utterly, totally, wholey, definitely, completely, absolutely blocked out by the thick clouds. There must be continual gusts of wind. A burst of rain now and then welcome.
3. Disappointing weather: a beautiful sky, a brilliant sun.
4. Fowl weather: the sun is shining high above, shining with all its might. |
